Jack Bowden 92 quietly passed away on Monday April 25 2011 in Ormond Beach FL. Jack was born June 21 1918 to Irish Immigrant parents William Bowden and Mary Power Bowden in Long Branch NJ. His parents and brother William Bowden Jr. preceded him. He grew up in Woodside L.I. NYC and graduated from St. Francis Xavier High School (1936) and Fordham University (1940). Jack worked as a Finance Manager for General Electric starting in Bridgeport CT then as a GE Corporate Traveling Auditor finally settling down in Pittsburgh PA where he raised his family the last 24 years of his 37 year GE career. While working in Bridgeport CT Jack met his wife of 63 years Dorothy G. Perrault Bowden who survives him and is very saddened by his death. Moving to Deerfield Beach FL after retirement Jack started selling real estate with his wife ultimately earning a FL Real Estate Broker's License. Jack was a history buff an avid reader and enjoyed many years of traveling with his wife Dorothy. He followed politics closely and was President of the Upper St. Clair PA Republican Club. In addition to his wife Jack is survived and dearly missed by his son and daughter-in-law John and Janice Bowden Ormond Beach FL; son David Bowden Boynton Beach FL; daughter and son-in-law Mary Patricia and Frank Lauro Deerfield Beach FL and three grandchildren Frankie Shannon and Nicholas Lauro. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Jack and Mary Ann Kelly and their family from Stratford CT. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to The Alzheimer's Association . Family will receive friends on Thursday April 28th between the hours of 5-7 pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday April 29th at 10:00 am at St. Brendan Roman Catholic Church Ormond Beach. Additional services and interment will be held in Connecticut.
