A Mass of Christian Burial for John F. Barros 93 of Port Orange who died November 17 2008 will be held at 8:30 am Friday November 21 2008 at Epiphany Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Kamide officiating. The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm Thursday at the Port Orange Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes. John was born March 24 1915 in Fall River MA. He lived on Madeira Island for a few years as a child then returned to the US as an orphan where he lived with an uncle and cousins. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) stationed in Vermont. He married Hilda Perreira and lived in New Bedford MA working as a barber and in the textile industry later retiring from Alden Corrugated. He participated on the committees for the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament in New Bedford. Upon his retirement he moved to Port Orange Florida where he lived for almost 30 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 69 years Hilda Barros in October 2007. He leaves to cherish his memory his children and their spouses daughters Beverly and Jim Molloy Janice and Richard Greene and son Ronald and Adrienne Barros.
