Mass of Christian Burial for John T. Andrews 67 of Teaberry Lane in Port Orange who died Friday October 31 2008 will be Thursday Nov. 6th at 11:00 am at Church of the Epiphany with Fr. Emile Gentile and Fr. Paul Kamide as celebrants. Interment with military honors will immediately follow in the Veterans Garden of Glory at Daytona Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday Nov. 5th from 6-8pm at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange with a vigil service at 7:00pm conducted by Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia /Flagler.

Born in Groton Mass the son of Robert S. and Harriet D. Andrews he graduated from Ramsey High School in New Jersey and went on to earn a B.S. in Education a Masters Degree in Counseling from Fitchburg State College and a PhD. from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Andrews began his career as a teacher in the Marlboro School System and later joined the faculty of Fitchburg State College where he taught for nine years. He then joined Wang Laboratories first as a member of the Corporate Internal Training Department and later as Director of Media Operations for Worldwide Manufacturing.

In 1987 he was hired by Moore's Home Centers as Director of Training and Development and in 1991 he became Director of Crystal House a Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Center in Gardner Mass. He was an Air Force Veteran and was an active member of Epiphany Catholic Church serving as a member of the bereavement ministry and the ministry to the sick. He was a former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where he served as the bereavement coordinator and was a Eucharistic minister. He also did volunteer work at a Mental Health facility in Daytona Beach and at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia /Flagler.

Dr. Andrews is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Kathleen A. Andrews a sister Claire Glennon Lonsdale of St. Augustine FL and 2 brothers Robert S. Andrews Jr. of Jacksonville FL and James F. Andrews Lyman Maine hi s God- son David Solomito of Boston Mass. and several nieces and nephews.
