Johannes (Hans) Mack, 78, passed away March 27, 2017 at his home in Port Orange, Florida.
Born June 1, 1938 in Regensburg, Germany, Hans lived great portions of his life in Germany; Chicago, Illinois; and Port Orange, Florida.
Hans honorably served in the United States Army from 1961 - 1963. Hans spent much of his career in the optical machinery field, ultimately becoming president of a company that sold optical machinery. After moving to Florida, Hans began a new career as a real estate agent for Watson Realty. He retired in 2014.
Hans was a proud American citizen, but also remained close to his German roots. Since moving to Florida, he enjoyed dancing and socializing at the Willow Tree restaurant in Sanford, and at the German American Club in Casselberry.
Hans is survived by his children, Richard Mack and Christina Mack; his girlfriend, Mary Lou Bublinec; his sister, Charlotte (Helmut) Hecht; his niece, Manuela (Gunnar) Oppermann; his grandnephew, Maximillian Oppermann; and his and Mary Lou's dog, Casper. Hans was preceded in death by his mother, Centa Steidl, and his father, Johann Mack.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. April 7, 2017 at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange prior to the 7 p.m. service in the funeral home's chapel. Condolences may be shared with the family through this online guestbook.
