Joan Parker Salmons, 84, of Palm Coast, FL, passed away September 16, 2016
Joan was born November 7, 1931 in Smiths Grove, Kentucky to Walter Scott and Birdie Wilma Parker.
Joan began her work as a Registered Nurse as soon as she graduated. She became a highly Skilled RN and loved working in Intensive Care & ER. After 25 years at Florida Hospital Orlando as Senior Vice President of Nursing, she retired. Before she retired, she initiated the Parish Nursing training & the Lay Health Educator's (LHE) program. She continued with the LHE program for another 6 years.
Joan & her husband Bill moved to Palm Coast 22 years ago, where they thrived on the Florida lifestyle! Joan loved walking on the beach, boating & living on the Intercoastal.
She was a faithful Seventh Day Adventist.
Joan will be sadly missed by her husband of 46 years, Bill Lynn Salmons; by her sons: Robert Morrow & Scott Morrow, M.D.; by her Stepchildren: Denise Garcia and Bill Salmons, Jr.; her step-grandchildren: Ryan Garcia and Lindsay Garcia; by her brothers: Bill Parker, Charles (Chuck) Parker & Steve Parker; by her sister, Mary Lou Cummings and by numerous nieces & nephews.
