Joan Mary Christofferson 78 of Daytona Beach peacefully passed away at home Tigger by her side on November 13 2011 after a valiant struggle against cancer. Joan missed her husband greatly and has joined him in heaven. Joan was born in Jersey City NJ and moved to Florida with her husband Henry in 1977. She and Hank were two of the founding members of Pelican Bay Golf Community. Joan was an administrative assistant most of her career. Joan was an avid golfer. She enjoyed bridge and was an active member of the Red Hat Society. She was also a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Port Orange. She will be sadly missed by her four children Karen Ammerman (David) of Altamonte Springs FL Susan Christofferson Hochman (David) of Merrick NY Owen Christofferson (Elizabeth) of Binghamton NY and Bryan Christofferson (Peggy) of Katonah NY and seven dear grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Donald Rokosz of New Mexico Geraldine Berard (Thomas) of Daytona Beach Deborah Rokosz of Washington Elaine Whitaker (Al) of Delaware. She is preceded in death by her brother Robert and her husband Hank. Friends and family visitation will be held on Thursday November 17 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Baggett and Summers Funeral Home. The Memorial service will be from 11:00am to 12:00 pm at Baggett and Summers Chapel 736 So. Beach St. Daytona Beach FL. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
