Joan Abbott, 83, of Palm Coast, passed away on October 15, 2016 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

A Visitation will be held from 1:30pm til 3:30pm on Wednesday October 19, 2016 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:30pm on Wednesday October 19, 2016 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. Interment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park.

Joan was born on May 20, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to the late George and Nena Cizek. She graduated from Argo High School in Bridgeview, Illinois. She retired as a receptionist for various offices in the Chicago suburbs. She moved to Florida from Woodridge, Illinois after retirement approximately 30 years ago.
Joan loved music, painting, yoga, walking the beach, nature, reading, working in the garden, and most especially her family and her friends.

Survivors include her two daughters, Christine Wales of Chicago, IL and Diane Abbott of Palm Coast, FL; brother, Dominick Cizek of Ocala, FL; two grandchildren, Andrew Wales of San Francisco, CA and Fawn Abbott of Palm Coast, FL; cousins, Carol Faynik Wehrle, Marty Faynik, Sherry Altman and Robert Claunch; sister-in-law, Ellen Ward of Hampton, VA and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Leonard of 56 years in 2007.
