Jill Y. Short, 80 of Ormond Beach Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, Daytona Beach, FL. She was born April 9, 1938 in Bath, England to William and Peggy (James) Ratley.  Jill was a homemaker, a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Jill was an avid reader and lover of all things English.  She enjoyed gardening and travel, and spending time with her four grandchildren Carolina, Isabella, Frederick and Alica. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Huston Short of Ormond Beach, her son Johnathan Short of Atlanta, Georgia, her daughter Amanda Boerner-Kleindienst and son-in-law Michael Boerner-Kleindienst of Hamburg, Germany, and her four grandchildren, Carolina Short and Isabella Short of Atlanta Georgia, and Frederick Boerner-Kleindienst and Alica Boerner-Kleindienst of Hamburg, Germany.  She is also survived by her sister Jean Bacon of Bath, England. A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated on Saturday, November 10th at 2:00 pm at Lohman Funeral Home, 733 W. Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 pm.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Jill to the Salvation Army ( https://www.salvationarmyusa.org ).
