Jewell Wisdom Thornhill of Ormond Beach went to be with her Lord on March 13, 2015. She was born March 20, 1927 in Bartow, Florida to R.F. and Jesse Wisdom.

Sixty-six years ago, Jewell married the love of her life, Newell, and together they raised three sons. She retired from Bell South after many years, where she was one of the first women to work as a frame attendant. She belonged to the Telephone Pioneers and Order of the Eastern Star and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach. Jewell treasured church, family, her home and her camellia flowers, which are now in full bloom in her honor.

Jewell was predeceased by her son, Newell B. Thornhill, III ("Rocky"). She leaves behind her devoted husband, Newell B. Thornhill, Jr., son David and his wife Sharon, son Darryl and his wife Leslie, and Rocky's wife Marilyn. Jewell's five grandchildrenthe pride of her lifeare Ashley, Alex, Ben (Newell B. Thornhill, IV), Harrison and Macie.

A service will be held for family and close friends. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
