Jesse Ray Pyles, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Port Orange on Friday, December 4th. Ray was born to Jesse M. and Stella Pyles in Greenbrier, Tn. in 1929. He earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Vanderbilt University and also served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the U.S. Army. After his service, Ray relocated to Florida in 1958 and began work for F.P.L. He was a district manager for many years, before his retirement following 31 years of dedicated service. Ray is survived by his wife of 30 years, Delores, 6 children, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held for Ray on Wednesday, December 16th at 1:00pm at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. A gathering of family and friends will begin one hour prior to service.
