Jerry Wayne White, loving husband, father, grandfather died suddenly at his home in Deltona, Florida on April 3, 2025. He was born in Milan, Tennessee to Ivy and Ellis White on August 24, 1946.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Linda White of Deltona; son, Matthew White of Deltona; daughter, Michelle East-Walker (Roger) of Lake Mary; four grandchildren, Cameron White of Deltona, Kailee Burgdorf (Graham) Hendersonville, Tennessee, Dawson East of Nashville, Tennessee, Luke East, a student of University of Central Florida in Orlando, and Kaeli Walker, a student of Georgia State University in Atlanta; three great grandchildren, Della, Elena, and Hunterleigh; and TJ, the family cat that he loved dearly.
Jerry graduated from Milan High School in Milan, Tennessee where he played saxophone in the high school marching band. After high school, Jerry went on to study electronics at Memphis Technical College. Jerry graduated from technical college, and he joined the United States Airforce, serving a tour in Vietnam and the Philippines specializing in Crypto Communications. After his service, Jerry spent most of his career as a computer programmer working in Knoxville, Tennessee at Oakridge, and 27 years in working for Stromburg / Carlson Siemens in Lake Mary, Florida.
Jerry was a long-time member of Life Fellowship Church in Deltona. He was an avid licensed HAM radio operator, known in the HAM world as WD4LIO. He had a passion for boats, radios, computers, and spending time with his family.
The care of Jerry White is under the loving and careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home, Deltona.
Memorial services will be held Saturday April 12, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at the Life Fellowship Church - 1420 Courtland Boulevard, Deltona, Florida.
A reception will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers , Jerry's family asks that you honor his spirt of kindness by simply doing an act of kindness for someone you know, a charity, an animal shelter, or even a stranger that crosses your path .
A donation table will be set up at the memorial for those who wish to honor Jerry's life by bringing nonperishable food items or diapers that will be graciously distributed to the community by Life Fellowship Second Harvest Food Pantry.
