Jeffery D. Yates Jr. 76 went to be with the Lord March 27 2009. Services will be held on Tuesday March 31st at 11:00am at Lohman Funeral Home 1423 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach. Jeffery was born in Orlando FL February 19 1933 and attended the Citadel after high school. He joined the Marine Corps and while serving in Vietnam was presented the NAVY COMMENDATION MEDAL and was designated a Combat Aircrewman. After retiring from the Marine Corps in 1973 he and his family settled in South Daytona. He was employed by Embry Riddle and earned a degree from D.B.C.C. He was a member of First Baptist Church South Daytona American Legion Post 0361 and The Marine Corps League. He was a loving and devoted husband father and grandfather. Jeffery is survived by his wife of 51 years Barbara; daughters Sandra (Malcolm) Clemons and Rebecca Woodard both of Jacksonville; grandchildren Jeffery and Michael Fillman of South Daytona Sarah Clemons and Daniel Woodard of Jacksonville and sister Kathryn (Charles) Masek of Port Orange.
