A Memorial Service for Jeanne Perkins 83 who passed away peacefully at home on Saturday April 11 2009 will be held at the family home on Tuesday April 21 2009 at 2:00pm. Jeanne was born on November 7 1925 in London England and came to the United States after marrying Robert her GI husband of 53 years in 1946. Moving to New York City she was active in politics and civic work. A few years later Jeanne and Robert moved to the suburbs to start a family. Jeanne remained active in politics and community service serving as Democratic County committee-woman Heart Fund Chairman Red Cross Chairman and an executive beard member of the Peacock Valley Hospital Coordinating and Planning Commission. While raising her three children she was directly involved in the campaigns of John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson along with many other campaigns for governors and senators. When Jeanne and her family moved to Ormond Beach in 1971 she continued her interest in politics serving in the League of Women Voters of Volusia County. Jeanne leaves behind a husband Bob; one son Terence Perkins of Ormond Beach and two daughters: Jeanine Hausaman of West Palm Beach and Heather Perkins of Ormond Beach. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Justin & Bruce Hausaman and Mandy & Bryan Perkins. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Halifax Humane Society 2364 W.
