Jeanne Byerly 81 of Deland FL ended her life's journey on January 18 2009 at Coquina Center in Ormond Beach with her loved ones by her side. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held in March in honor of what would have been her 82nd birthday. Jeanne was a native Floridian born to Joseph Clarence and Florence Baker in DeLand Florida in 1927. She spent most of her life as a homemaker however retired as one of Volusia County's first women bridge tenders. Jeanne had a quiet demeanor a gentle spirit and a kind heart and lived her life in ways that she would not be a burden on anyone. She was a compassionate woman who understood that the greatest things in life could not be bought or touched only felt in the heart. She will be remembered in the hearts of all those who knew her. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her three daughters who loved her dearly; Sue (Joe) Sterthaus of Ormond Beach Florida JoAnne (Dennis) McComb of DeLand Florida Laura (Jim) Fiske of Palm Coast Florida; brothers Ralph (Mamie) Baker of DeLand Florida Bobby Baker of Eustis Florida; sister Nancy (Edwin) Connery of Coral Springs Florida; grandchildren Christine (David) Poulin of Port Orange Florida Joey Sterthaus and fianc Michelle Smith of Ormond Beach Florida Casey (Theresa) McComb of Lithia Florida Ashley (Harry) Candelo of Tucker Georgia Wesley (Sheri) Fiske of Ormond Beach Florida Stacey-Fiske (Shane) Gavin of Ormond Beach Florida and ten great grandchildren. Jeanne was predeceased in death by her husband Tom Byerly to whom she was married for 45 years.
