Jean B. Oliver 92 a long-time resident of Daytona Beach passed away on May 20 2010. A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 27th at 2PM at Sandalwood Nursing Center 1001 S. Beach St. Daytona Beach FL. Jean was born in Liberty South Carolina and received her Bachelor's Degree from Lander College. As a young adult she moved to Washington DC where she met her late husband George to whom she was married to for 57 years. She spent her working years teaching secretarial skills and as a secretary in the insurance industry. Jean and her husband spent a number of years living in New York before retiring to Daytona in 1975. Jean was a member of the Community United Methodist Church and DAR both in Daytona. She enjoyed sewing reading and cruises however she had a particular fondness for entertaining. Jean cherished the time she spent with her family and loved them all dearly. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Nancy Straus and her husband Larry of South Daytona and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George and four siblings.
