On Tuesday January 31 2006 this world lost a beautiful person. Jean Sachs Ogonowski died in the comfort of her son?s arms in her Ormond Beach home with her husband of fifty years at her side. There will be a memorial service at Lohman?s Funeral Home in Ormond Beach on Friday February 3 2006 located at 733 West Granada Blvd. Friends and family may pay their respects between the hours of 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. The service will follow immediately thereafter. Jean was a lifelong seamstress and an avid antique collector. In her younger years she was the President of the Parent/Teacher Association of Volusia/Flagler County School District. She enjoyed spending her free time with family and friends. Jean was born to Frank and Helen Sachs on March 19 1930 in Elizabeth New Jersey. She was raised by her loving father and stepmother Marie and graduated from St. Mary?s High School. She met her husband of 50 years at the local swimming pool there. Jean and Joe were married and moved to Florida where they raised their four children: Michelle Ogonowski Michael Ogonowski Maureen Perdue and her husband Bernie and Maria Piepenburg. She also had five grandchildren: Charles Perdue Shawn Perdue Michael Perdue Bernard Perdue and Marinna Piepenburg and four great-grandchildren: Alyssa Perry Charles Perdue Jr. Ashluire Perdue and Annikah Perdue. Jean is also survived by her sisters Lynn Wilson Judy Galambos and Paula Larson. Jean also had many relatives and friends too special to not mention however too lengthy to list.
