It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Jean C. McRae, 89, of Ormond Beach, FLA. who passed away on December 23rd, 2024, due to complications after surgery. 

Jean was born on February 6, 1935, to Minnie and Gustave Heinz in Newark, NJ. She grew up in Irvington, NJ, and graduated from Irvington High School. She attended the Washington Secretary School for two years, earning an accreditation. Afterwards she worked for the Stock Market. 

In 1955 she married John Paffrath of Linden, NJ. They lived in Colonia for 21 years. They had one daughter, Laurie, and were married for 21 years. 

In 1978, Jean married Richard Kuhn from Union, NJ. They spent 12 very happy loving years together, until Richards untimely death in February 1990. 

In 1994, Jean married Michael McRae whom she met through work. She would spend the rest of her life with this wonderful loving man. While Michael worked for the Howmet Corporation, they resided in Michigan. Afterward they moved to Ormond Beach Florida. They had great times together, made many friends along the way, spent time with their children, and enjoyed being together. Michael was a devoted and wonderful husband. 

Jean was a people person. She was sociable and liked talking and getting to know people. She loved going out to dinner, going to the movies, talking on the phone and reading her silly Star Magazines. She also loved her daughter’s two best friends like they were her own. She played Mahjong and enjoyed eating bagels and lox. She swore she was half Jewish. 

She loved beautiful things, dressing up, watching movies and wearing her beautiful jewelry; especially her diamonds. However, the thing she loved the most was her only daughter. 

She will be forever missed. 

Jean is survived by her husband Michael; daughter Laurie DeChiaro (Michael); grandchildren, Dana DeChiaro-Justice, (David), Stephen, and Corey; great grandson, Malachi Justice; stepchildren, Bob McRae, (Julie), Katie Evans, (Dr. Andew Evans); grandchildren Olivia, Drew, Christian, Elizabeth, Julia, and Ben; and lifelong friend, Pauline Puleo.
