Jay Gordon Pierce passed away on Friday, July 9th, 2021. He was 54. Jay was born September 23, 1966 in Maracaibo, Venezuela, the son of Gordon and Carol (Thome) Pierce, longtime Daytona Beach residents.
Jay graduated from Spruce Creek High School (Class of 1985) and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from UCF. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia for work. There he met the love of his life, wife Amy. They married in September of 2007 and made their home in Smyrna. Jay was a resident of Port Orange and an accounting manager for a global manufacturing firm in Deland.
Jay loved being outdoors and was an excellent golfer and photographer. He was famous amongst his family for being an incredible host and tour guide to anyone that visited as well as for being willing to do anything to entertain his nieces and nephews. He was a dedicated son, brother and friend. Above all, Jay loved being a husband, taking great pride in supporting Amy as she realized her dream of becoming a nurse.
Jay is survived by his father Gordon (Donna), Ormond Beach, FL and sisters Laurie Marcus, Daytona Beach, Amy Ameye (Eric), Orlando, FL, Bethany Creamer (John) South Daytona, FL, as well as nieces Jamie, Lauren, Reagan and Ava and nephews Alex, William and Zachary, Aunt Joella Fickbohm (Rockwell City, Iowa), several cousins in Iowa, Texas, California and Hawaii and wonderful life-long friends.
