A Celebration of Life for Jay Mason 78 of Daytona Beach will be held privately at the convenience of his family. He died Saturday March 31 2007 at The Halifax Medical Center Daytona Beach. Arrangements are with The Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Beach. Surviving him are his wife of thirty-nine years Linda; three sons Mark Mason N.C. Mitchell Mason Fla. Jeffrey Mason N.C.; a daughter Sheree Mason Giardino Ill.; and four grandchildren. Jay was born March 2 1929 in Bronx New York the son of Murray Wallace and Gertrude Taylor Mason. He graduated from Taft High School New York City N.Y. and the LaGuardia Academy of Aeronautics N.Y. He served in the U.S Army during the Korean War. He married Linda Waltzer on September 7 1967. Prior to his retirement in 1994 he distinguished himself in sales for Colony Liquor Distribution Center Kingston N.Y. for many years. He was also an amateur pilot and flight instructor. After retiring and relocating to Florida he served as President and Treasurer of the Westgate Condominium Association and more recently served on the Security Committee of the Pelican Bay Homeowners Association. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his devotion to his family his sense of humor and organizational wizardry.
