Jason Lewis Sandler 86 of Holly Hill passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday February 27 2009 in Port Orange with his long time friend Ed Berger by his side. A memorial service in his honor will be held Sunday March 22 2009 2:00 PM at Temple Beth-El 579 N. Nova Road Ormond Beach Florida. Rabbi Barry Altman will be officiating. Mr. Sandler born in Lynn Massachusetts to Maurice and Katherine (Schullman) Sandler graduated from Revere High School in 1940 attended Wentworth Institute in Boston and was a proud WWII Flight Engineer and a veteran of the US Army Air Corp. He dedicated his talents as a buyer/salesman for the former Automotive Warehouse Distributors; Lynn MA. Jason and Leatrice moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1987. He worked for 15 years with Advanced Auto Parts Daytona Beach. Jason was an avid golfer enjoyed boating furniture making gun collecting and lived his life to the fullest. He was a proud member of The US Coast Guard Auxiliary; Massapoag Rod and Gun Club; Sharon MA The DAV; Bethlehem Lodge AF & AM The Allepo Shrine; Methuen MA The Bahia Shrine; Orlando FL and Temple Beth-El; Ormond Beach FL. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 61 years Leatrice Zita Sandler 2 sons; Mark Sandler Costa Rica and Merrill Sandler and his fianc Deborah Schafer Bunnell FL a granddaughter; Jennifer Sandler S. Daytona a great granddaughter; Aubrie Hohenstein S. Daytona 2 nieces; Dr. Fay Sandler ME and Susan Sandler MA a nephew; Bruce Sandler MA a sister-in-law; Clair Sandler MA and many great friends. His parents and a brother Edwin Sandler preceded him in death.
