Obituary

Janet Richardson Obituary Janet Richardson passed away peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2021. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Daisy Richardson . She is survived by and lovingly remembered by her friend and companion of many years, Sally Neider, brother, Robert Richardson , and sister in-law, Vicky Richardson of California, two cousins, three nephews, one niece, six grand nephews, four grand nieces, one great grandniece, one great grandnephew, and special extended family, Sally's nephew's son. Janet was born in Brooklyn on June 26, 1940. She lived and was educated in Brooklyn, New York; Somerville, New Jersey; and Baldwinsville, New York where Janet 's mother, Daisy, taught languages in Baldwinsville High School. Janet was a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont. From childhood, Janet 's life was dedicated to the Girl Scouts of America. She ultimately became the CEO for the Citrus Council in Florida; accomplishing projects that are still being implemented today; and, in the process, she made life long Girl Scout friends. In her heyday, Janet was an enthusiastic avid fan of the Miami Heat Basketball team - a proud season ticket owner for many years. The family would like to acknowledge the care and comfort given to Janet by Hospice at AdventHealth Hospital in Orange City, Florida, DeBary Health and Rehab Center in DeBary, Florida, and Sally's sister, Sandy Dunn in Debary, Florida. Janet 's ashes will be interred with Daisy and Arthur in Shepherd Memorial Park, Hendersonville, North Carolina. The family requests that all remembrances be directed to the Girl Scouts of America.
