Janet "Jenny" McCarthy age 92 of Port Orange passed away on Sunday September 25 2011. A funeral Mass in her honor will be held Friday September 30 at 9:00am at the Basilica of St. Paul 317 Mullally St. Daytona Beach. Interment will follow at Shady Rest Cemetery. Jenny was born Concetta Florentine Cerulli in Candela Foggia Italy to Vito and Maria Cerulli. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family until her children were grown and then went to work for Montgomery Wards in the candy department and became affectionately known as "Candy Lady". She was a loving gentle woman a fabulous cook loved to entertain and as matriarch of the Cerulli family always held family gatherings. Her husband of 54 years Edward T. McCarthy her parents and 3 brothers and 1 sister preceded her in death and she leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters: Anne (John) Gorzki and Marilyn (Kevin) Miller 2 grandchildren John Gorzki and Jacqueline (Billy) Davison and 2 great grandsons Will and Chase Davison. 6 nieces and nephews several great nieces and nephews Lori her best friend Bonnie and all her loving caring family and friends at the Sterling House and Vitas Hospice. In memory of Jenny and her love of all animals donations may be made to the animal rescue or humane society of your choice.
