Jane Staley Robinson, age 91, passed away in the loving care of Hospice with her family at her side on Monday, September 1st, 2014 in Orange City, FL. Born March 16, 1923, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Emory and Elizabeth Staley, she attended Draughon's Business College in Columbia, SC and graduated from the institute in 1941. Jane lived in many different places before WWII took her to Washington, DC in 1942. She held various civil service positions. During WWII she clerked in the Adjunct General's office and was secretary in the Intelligence Department of the Navy. Her career also included being appointed executive secretary to White House Press Secretary James Hagerty under the Eisenhower administration. On June 12, 1943 she married the love of her life, Parker B. Robinson, Jr in Washington, DC. Jane and Parker settled in Bethesda, MD where Jane transitioned to full time mom in 1959. "Retirement" brought her and her family to Ormond Beach, FL in October of 1972. Jane's most notable accomplishments were to be the founder of the First Ormond Fife and Drum Corps, to be named the first woman President of the Navy League - Daytona Beach in 1987 and to be named the President of the Ormond Beach Historical Society for three terms. Jane is remembered by her friends and family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her sons, Parker B. Robinson, III (Sheila) of DeBary, FL and James S.
