Jan Renee Domingus of DeLand, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. She was 48 years old.

Born in Bellevue, Illinois, to Roy and Judy Brellinger, Jan later made Florida her home. She graduated from DeLand High School and was affectionately known as "Sweetness" by her family and friends, a nickname that reflected the kindness, warmth, and love she shared with everyone around her.

Jan met the love of her life, Robert, through her sister. Their relationship began while they were both working in a local restaurant, and what started as a friendship quickly grew into a lasting love story. Together for 25 years, they built a life centered on family, devotion, and cherished memories.

A loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, Jan adored her entire family and found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved. She especially treasured her children and was devoted to creating happy memories with them. Jan enjoyed watching movies, particularly love stories, and looked forward each year to Halloween, delighting in decorating and celebrating the season with her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Judy Brellinger.

Jan leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert Domingus; her children, Dayton and Tessa Domingus; her sister, Kim Blankenship and husband Michael Blankenship of Waterloo, Illinois. Michael had been a part of Jan's life since she was six years old, and the two shared a very special bond that grew stronger through the years, making him not only a brother-in-law but a cherished lifelong friend and brother. She is also survived by her sister, Dana Grimes of Waterloo, Illinois; her sisters-in-law, Melissa (J.D.) Tidwell of Seville, Florida, and Tara (Chad) Marshall of Orange City, Florida; her brothers-in-law, Eric Domingus and Johne Domingus, both of DeLand, Florida; her mother-in-law, Jacalyn Oman of DeLand, Florida; and Robert's second mom, Christine (Mick) Heard of Montana. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and numerous friends whose lives were touched by her love and friendship.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at DeLand Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, the family is kindly requesting donations to a Go Fund Me account that is being set up in Jan's memory.
