Wahl, James, of Port Orange Florida, formerly of Fall River, MA, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at the age of 77. Born September 26, 1946 in Fall River MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice Wahl. James is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 54 years, Donna; his loving sisters, Joyce Anselmo and her late husband Ronald of Sebastian, FL, and Patricia and her husband Bill Chasse of Fall River, MA; his dear brothers, Gerald, his twin, and his late wife Judy of Fall River, MA, and Joseph "Ron" and his wife Linda of Westport, MA, and was preceded in death by his brother Allen. Jim was the cherished brother-in-law of the late Beverly Enos. He is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jim proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, as a combat veteran for the United States Marine Corp. He was an employee for many years for the Fall River Gas Company and was the owner of the travel agency "Only Cruising". After moving to Florida in 1989, Jim continued working in the travel business for many year at Focus Travel. In his spare time, Jim worked as the President of the Fall River Maplewood Little League donating his time, knowledge and love of the game, coaching many young baseball players over the years. He was a proud "life member" of the VFW Post 3282 in Port Orange, FL, always volunteering his time and meeting wonderful people who became lifelong friends. Jim was an avid sports fan who loved golfing in his spare time, as well as cheering on his favorite Boston teams, the Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
A funeral mass will be held on January 4, 2024 at 8:30AM in Our Lady of Hope, 4675 Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL. Interment will be held on a later date in Fall River, MA. In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jim's memory to either The Emory L. Bennett Memorial Veterans' Nursing Home, 1920 Mason Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32117 or The Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32117.
