James Robert Smith "Smitty" 60 of Ormond Beach passed away on January 27 2010 after a long illness. He was born January 18 1950 in Florence South Carolina and moved to Daytona Beach at age 6. He attended Seabreeze High School and Daytona Beach Community College. He formerly was a loan officer with First Atlantic Bank Assistant Manager with Furchgott's Department Stores and an investigator with Smith Hood Perkins Law Firm. Jim was known for his kindness his laughter and for never having met a stranger. He was the ultimate "handy man" and was always completing tasks for friends neighbors or strangers. He was a lover of animals an avid supporter of "The Gators" and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He leaves behind his brother Horace Jr. (Teresa) nephew Ruddledge and niece Hunter of Ormond Beach Florida. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation 5705 Grant Creek Road Missoula Montana 59808.
