James Allen Schmid, 78, passed away on Monday, July 13, 20015 at home in Hammock Dunes in Palm Coast, Florida. He was in good health and passed quickly in the early morning. A Memorial Service in his honor will he held at 3:30 pm Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast Location.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Marie Joan Schmid; his son, James Schmid, Lorraine Schmid Varone his daughter and her husband Michael Steven Varone, his FIVE grandson's, James Micahel Schmid, Christian Maurice Schmid, Spencer Gabriel Schmid, Michael Anthony Varone, Steven James Varone; and many many close friends.

Born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, the son of Albert and Ethel Schmid, Jim was always trying new things and always on the move. Although having residence in New Jersey, Hawaii, North Carolina, Jim and Marie raised their family and had primary residence in the State of Florida.

In his early years, he worked various sales and construction jobs before and after serving in the United States Army. He met his wife, Marie Lazicki in grammar school and have been life long soul mates for nearly 60 years. He was a very successful business man and owned and operated an Aluminum Hurricane Storm Protection company specializing in Aluminum manufacturing. He also owned and operated construction companies, industrial painting lines, hardware companies, a tree farm nursery, and even a livestock to keep him busy.

He excelled in everything with hobbies focusing on Golf, Tennis and fishing. He loved to travel and did so to many places in the world with his wife, trying new things and most of all living life everyday to the fullest. A respected friend to all and mentor to most, he will truly be missed.
