Obituary

James H. "Jim" Park, Jr, 82, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Halifax Hospital, He was born in Kentucky, moved to West Palm Beach and then to Daytona Beach. A 1955 graduate of Mainland High School, he lettered in football, swimming, and was a member of several service clubs. He attended Florida State University and returned to Daytona Beach to work with his father at Park Provisions. After his father passed he took over the market and then opened Park Seafood Restaurant. The restaurant was popular with local and visitors alike. He retired in 2004 after 28 years in the restaurant business. Jim was an avid Florida Gator fan and a member of Quarterback Club and Daytona Beach Gator Club. Also an avid golfer, he played regularly at clubs all around the area. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jo Ann; was predeceased by son Jeff'; survived by son James H. III; daughter Jo Lynn Watkins; beloved grandsons Chase Watkins, Vero Beach; Connor Watkins, Jacksonville; sisters Carolyn Peacock (James). Atlanta, Ga., and the late Nancy Moreland (Charlie), North Carolina. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 26, 2018, at 2 p.m., at Central Baptist Church, 142 Fairview Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida. Arrangements are being handled by Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. Condolences may be made online through our website.
