James J. O'Brien 91 of Ormond Beach passed away on June 28 2008. Born on May 20 1917 in Manhattan NY to Joseph & Mary O'Brien James was a WWII Army Veteran who served as a medic. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic War Veterans. James was the head usher for many years at St. Brendan Catholic Church and was the owner of Bergen Vacuum in Hackensack NJ for many years. Survivors include Gertrude his beloved wife of 65 years; his sons: Robert John Timothy and James; his daughters: Eileen Sparacino & Laraine Tisserand; his brother Joseph C. and his sisters Helen & Elizabeth O'Brien along with eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Dumont NJ with burial to follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill NY and a memorial mass will be held in July at St. Brendan Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
