James E. Moore, 89, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Wednesday, August 3, 2016.
He was born January, 24, 1927 in Atlanta, Georgia to James and Gladys (Brannon) Moore.
Jim served in the maritime service in World War II as a cook, and later as a junior engineer. He received an honorable discharge from the Coast Guard.
He went on to work at Florida Power and light for 41 years, serving in various capacities. Many of the jobs he filled were at Turkey Point Nuclear Plant in South Florida. He was one of the first people in Florida to receive a Senior Reactor Operator's license. He was responsible for the running and supervision of the nuclear plants.
A memorial service is planned at Tomoka Christian Church, 1450 Hand Avenue, Ormond Beach, on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
