James "Jim" Matthew Shidel

February 7, 1941 ~ September 18, 2022

James "Jim" Matthew Shidel, 81, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away on Sunday September 18, 2022 at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility in Port Orange, FL.  He was born on February 7, 1941 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.  Jim retired after over 30 years of dedicated employment as the Store Manager of multiple Winn Dixie Stores in Florida.

Jim enjoyed bird watching, traveling, reading, gardening and woodworking.

He is survived by his companion of 12 years, Kathleen A.  Andrews of Port Orange; Two Aunts, Ann Novak "Baby Ann" and Margaret Staszak both of PA; Many nieces and nephews; and a very special niece and nephew, Dawn Stipanovic and Jeffrey Haidle who cared for Jim with love through all of his medical problems.

Jim was preceded in death by his son, David Shidel of VA.

A Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday September26, 2022 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday September 27, 2022 at The Church of the Epiphany, 201 Lafayette Street, Port Orange, FL 32127 with Reverend Karl Bergin officiating.  Interment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
