James Talton Lutes 76 of Ormond Beach passed away Tuesday August 14 2012. A Celebration of Life honoring Jim will be held Saturday August 25 2012 at 2:00pm at First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach 336 South Halifax Drive Ormond Beach FL 32176.

Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 21 years achieving the rank of Major. He served as a Paratrooper and a Helicopter Gunship Pilot serving 2 tours in Vietnam. After retiring from military service Jim worked for Beverly Enterprises for 23 years. He and his wife Sue worked in long term health care administration.

Jim was passionate about photography and genealogy. He enjoyed researching his family history and authored a book on it. He also loved spending time with his military buddies in the 508 Association. Jim and Sue faithfully attended First United Methodist of Ormond Beach since 1999.

Jim's greatest love was his wife of 36 years Sue. He was a family man. He loved his children and was especially crazy about his 14 grandchildren.

Jim will be sadly missed by his wife Sue of Ormond Beach; by his 8 children: James C. Lutes (Joannie) of Augusta GA Rhonda Pierce (Phil) of Birmingham AL Clay Goode (Kasey) of Ludowici GA Jason Lutes (Nancy) of Atlanta GA Jeff Lutes of Augusta GA Brian Goode (Kim) of Rincon GA Brenda Esser of Ormond Beach and Jamie Wade (Nathan) of Ormond Beach and by his 14 grandchildren. He will be remembered by many. Jim was predeceased by his siblings: Grady Lutes Bill Lutes Roy Lutes Ladson Lutes and June Lutes.
