In Loving Memory of James L. Hall
August 29, 1950 – September 20, 2025
James L. Hall, affectionately known as Jim, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at the age of 75 in his hometown of Daytona Beach, Florida.
Born on August 29, 1950, Jim was a lifelong resident of Daytona Beach and a proud alumnus of The Florida School for the Deaf and Blind in St. Augustine, Hillcrest Elementary, and the Conklin Center. His time at the Conklin Center was especially meaningful, where he diligently kept track of his work, proudly tallying over 600 bags of shredded material—an achievement he loved to share.
Jim had a zest for life and a warm, social spirit. He found joy in bowling, fishing, music, and above all, spending time with family. He was an active participant in events and parties through his W.O.R.C. Haven family and cherished the independence he maintained while living at his group home through Sunrise ALF. Votran was always on speed dial—ready to take him wherever the next adventure awaited.
Jim's final days were lovingly cared for by the compassionate teams at Blue Palms and Halifax Hospice of Daytona, for whom the family is deeply grateful.
He is survived by his siblings: Dennis (Susan), Lance (Linda), Bonnie (Allan) Moore, and Kathi (Terry) Newhart. Jim was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews: Jennifer, J.D., Abby, Andrew, Matthew, Alaina, Aimee, and Chloe, and a cherished great-uncle to seven great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Coats Hall; father, James B. Hall; stepmother, Carol H. Hall; and stepbrothers, Chip and Karl Heins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 1:30 PM , officiated by Rev. Thomas Hartley at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond , 733 West Granada Boulevard, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174. A light reception will follow the service. Burial will be private at Daytona Memorial Park .
Jim's kind heart, sense of humor, and love for his community and family will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
