James Mitchell "Jim" Kirby age 79 of Daytona Beach Shores went to his heavenly rewards on Saturday August 21 2010. A 9:30 am viewing followed by a 10:30 funeral service in his honor will be held Tuesday August 24 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holly Hill Fl. Rev. Brett Snider officiating Rev. Dave Kirby assisting. Interment will be at Daytona Memorial Park. A viewing/visitation will be held on Monday 08/23/10; 5:00~7:00 PM at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Homes.

Jim was born January 1 1931 in Lexington Kentucky to George and Mary Kirby and received a B.A. from Florida State University. He dedicated his talents to so many different things including architecture music toy making artistry set design and carpentry. He was the Owner and operator of "James M. Kirby Design Service" of Daytona Beach long time Boy Scout leader and a proud member of Lutheran Church since 1961 active in: the Lutheran Brotherhood projects the choir as a soloist featured singer a trustee and involved in the youth theater ministry with his wife Bertha. He and his family were also involved with the Daytona Playhouse for many years. Jim will best be remembered for his devotion to his family his fun loving nature and his desire to "Make peoples dreams come true"

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 58 years Bertha Marie Kersey Kirby; 4 children; David Mitchell(Becky) Kirby; Steven Douglas (Bonnie)Kirby; Susan Elaine (Gary)Kirby Laski ; Dennis Alan (Shirley) Kirby; 12 grandchildren; Sean Kirby Ryan(Betsy) Laski Daniel (Jennifer)Kirby Joel (Veronica) Kirby Scott (Bonnie G) Kirby Erin Kirby Garret Laski James E. Kirby Brandon Laski
Allison Laski John Kirby JuliAna Kirby; 1 ½ great-grandsons Aden and one expected; a sister Margaret Kirby Massett; numerous nephews nieces extended church family and loving friends.
