Jim Weekes of Palm Coast died peacefully of natural causes on November 14, 2017. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School in Tampa and a graduate of the charter class of the University of South Florida. He served in the United States Navy for twenty-seven years and retired at the grade of Captain. His Navy career included two tours at sea and many years in contract management. Following his retirement from the Navy, he worked for DSIC and later CACI, both in Arlington, VA, in contract support roles. In 2002 Jim retired for good and he and his wife moved aboard their forty-six foot sailboat. They lived aboard for four and a half years, traveling up and down the East Coast and over to the Bahamas. In 2007, they settled in Palm Coast, Florida. Jim is survived by his wife, Stephanie; his son and daughter, Greg and Becky; his siblings, John, Tom and Debbie; and his grandchildren, Tanner and Savannah.
A Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday November 20, 2017 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home, Palm Coast. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday November 21, 2017 also in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home, Palm Coast.
