James B. Hall 85 quietly passed away surrounded by his family on December 27 2012. A funeral service in his honor will be held on Saturday January 5 2013 at 11:00 A.M at Church of the Epiphany 201 Lafayette Street Port Orange FL. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Friday January 4 2013 from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange 1201 Dunlawton Ave Port Orange FL. Jim a Daytona Beach native was born on February 3 1927 and graduated from Mainland High School in 1944. He served in the United States Navy during the conclusion of WWII. In 1952 he started Hall Construction Company and while driving around Volusia County one can see many projects that he built over his 40 year career. Some of his work includes the construction of Epiphany Catholic Church Port Orange City Hall Museum of Arts and Sciences The St Anastasia Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. Jim was always very active in our community. He was a city commissioner of Daytona Beach chairman of the local Port Authority chairman of the American Cancer Society of Daytona Beach Halifax Hospital Associate. He was also a member of the Jaycees YMCA Yacht Club Halifax Club Museum of Arts and Sciences and Oceanside Country Club. He was the beloved husband of Carol Heins Hall for 35 years. Loving father of James L. Hall Dennis (Susan) Hall Lance (Linda) Hall Bonnie (Allan) Moore Kathi (Terry) Neuhart the late Karl Heins and the late Chip Heins. Caring grandfather of Jennifer J.D. Abby Andrew Matthew Alaina Aimee Chloe and great-grandfather of Tre` Taylor Brie Jonah and Jetson. He is now at peace with his late wife Carol Coates Hall.
