Pat Fugate, entered eternity on May 18, 2018.   He was the most wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

A Florida resident for the past 38 years,  he was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to James and Lovel Fugate.  Pat may have lived his last years in Florida, but he was a "Born Buckeye", an avid Ohio State University Fan.

To say that Pat lived his life, is putting it mildly. At the young age of 18, he had the starring role in a movie "The Quiet Crowd". In the 1970's, Pat managed a band called Brimstone. They were widely known in the Akron/Canton/Cleveland area. He helped produce their album "Paper Winged Dreams" which is recognized in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame.

For many years he coached both basketball and baseball for the Police Athletic Club in Port Orange and the Rec Center. One year he had a losing season with his kids in basketball and he told them if they could win just one game, he would shave his hair off...well, Pat was bald for a long time after that. He helped coach the weight lifting team for Special Olympics. Coaching brought him so much joy.

Pat was very proud of the fact that he was known as "The World's Strongest Senior Citizen" Well into his 60's, he competed in Strong Man Contests, usually beating men half his age. He performed in Las Vegas, and has been on Ripley's Believe It Or Not several times, pulling semi-trucks.

He is predeceased by his parents, James and Lovel, brother Julian and son Scotty.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Debbie, children James Troy Fugate, Kimberly (Mark) Wrestler, Monique (Doug) Craig, Ryan Anderson, and William (Candace) Fugate, 7 beautiful grandchildren and 5 amazing great-grandchildren. Brothers Paul (Jeanne) Fugate and Robert Fugate.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 16th, 2018 , 1 o'clock , Lohmans Funeral Home  1201 Dunlawton Avenue Port Orange, Florida 32127
