James L. Ford 77 of Palm Coast FL. passed away November 3 2011 at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House Palm Coast. Visitation will be November 7 2011 from 10 am until the Funeral Service at 11 am at The Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast 220 Palm Coast Parkway SW Palm Coast FL. Interment will immediately follow at Daytona Memorial Park 1425 Bellevue Ave. Daytona Bch. James was born in Twila Kentucky and raised in West Virginia where he graduated from Athens High School. James then joined and served in the United States Navy where he earned the National Defense Service medal. After exiting the navy James attended Concord College in WV earning his bachelors degree. He then moved to Philadelphia where he worked as a civilian for the Naval Air Station. In 1998 James moved to Orlando FL. then to Palm Coast. He was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and N.A.R.F. He enjoyed attending his family reunions every year in WV and visiting Cape May NJ for his lobster. James enjoyed Disney world especially the roller coasters and "it's a small world". He will be sorely missed by all that new him. James is preceded in death by his brothers William Ford Charlie Panell Harvey Walls and Ray Ford. He is survived by his beloved friend of 36 years Robert O'Neill of FL Brothers Johnny Walls (Mildred) WV Luther Ford (Pansy) of NC Sisters Pearl Bird of WV Thema Reed (Keith) FL Dolores Hanks (Johnny) NC and sister-in-law Ruby Reed of WV.
