James P. Flynn, 81 of Ormond Beach, Florida died January 7, 2015 at Florida Hospital Hospice Care Center, Daytona Beach. James was born October 2, 1933 in Mamaroneck, New York and relocated to Volusia County in 1989 from Port Chester, NY.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10th from 4-7 pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10th at 11:00 am at St. Brendan's Catholic Church; 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd., Ormond Beach.
James served his country in the US Army from 1953-55. He was a dedicated employee of UPS. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Oceanside Country Club. James earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. He enjoyed traveling and was passionate about golf. He is credited with scoring two hole-in-ones. He also volunteered for Four for Fore, a charitable organization introducing kids to golf.
James is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Flynn of Ormond Beach, his children, William (Stefanie) Flynn of Belle Mead, NJ, Kim (Steve) Foresman of Alpharetta, GA, and Jennifer (Joshua) Jarbeau of E. Greenwich, RI, by his brother, William, and five sisters, Mary, Noreen, Margaret, Dorothy, and Patricia as well as by seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and good friend.
