James A. (Jim) Feaster of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the age of 77. Jim was born on September 30, 1943 in Fairmont, WV and lived with his family in Fairmont, WV, Elkins, WV, Charleston, WV and Chesterfield, MO.
In his youth, Jim played Little League Baseball, and had the honor of pitching a no- hit game. He played the saxophone in the Charleston High School Band which allowed him the incredible opportunity to travel to New York City to play and March in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Jim graduated from Charleston High School and attended West Virginia University, Beckley College and University of Missouri, Saint Louis. After college, Jim followed in his father's footsteps professionally when he began a long career with CONTEL in Warrenton, MO, and then to Apple Valley, CA for a management training program. His career with CONTEL took him from California to St. Paul, Minnesota, Pinconning, MI, Manassas, VA, Dallas, TX and Russellville, AK before his retirement in Ormond Beach, FL.
Jim also shared a love of cars with his father and brother, John. As teenagers, the brothers refurbished a 1952 Ford to be their first car. Jim also shared with his father and brother, a passion for NASCAR racing and traveled with his family all over the country to attend races. This passion lasted his lifetime. In retirement, he and John had the opportunity to see the United States, traveling the country by motorcycle, visiting the annual motorcycle festival in Sturgis, South Dakota, reconnecting and visiting childhood homes and visiting family and friends.
Jim loved playing pool, being with people and telling his stories. Jim never met a stranger. He loved being with his family and watching his children and grandchildren grow up.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Kristen Feaster (James Vachon) of Ormond Beach and son, Donald Feaster III of Phoenix, AZ, two grandchildren, Emily Stout and A.J. Collins both of Ormond Beach, FL, his former wife and the mother of his children, Kathern Stewart Brown of Phoenix, AZ, his love, Robin Tardiff Morris, and her daughters, Jessica and Jennifer Morris of Ormond Beach, brother and best friend, John Feaster (Sheila) of Hendersonville, NC, sisters, Donna Sue (Susie) Steele (Andy) of Brandon, MS and Linda Bailey (Randy) of Escondido, CA and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father, Donald and Irene Feaster, brother Donald Feaster, Jr, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
No services are planned at this time, but a Celebration of Jim's Life will be held in the future.
