James Lester Eagle age 77 of Port Orange passed away on Friday September 8 2006 in Daytona Beach. A Memorial Service will be held October 15 2006 at Colony Community Church Daytona Beach following the worship service. James was born in Monterey VA on July 28 1929. He has been a visitor to Volusia County for over 12 years and moved here in 1999 from Akron Ohio. A Korean War Veteran James worked for the City of Akron as a firefighter and retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co.; he also worked for the Akron Board of Education. James was affiliated with the Masons Grotto where he was a member of the Safety Unit; V.F.W. Eagles Square Club and was an avid sports fan. James is survived by his beloved wife Mary. They would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in October. He is also survived by his son Michael Eagle of Akron OH; daughter Sherry Eagle of Portland OR; granddaughters Courtney Greenman and Jennifer Hudak; sister Virginia Smith of Uniontown OH; sister-in-law Ann Don Butler and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Eunice Eagle. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to Colony Community Church 1275 Beville Rd. Daytona Beach FL 32119.
