Funeral Service for James Walker DeJarnette age 78 of Daytona Beach who died Sunday August 17 2008 at Indigo Manor with his loving family at his side will be 11:00 AM Thursday August 21 2008 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona with Pastors Sonja & Dave Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday August 20 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. Jim was born in Nathalie VA he moved to Daytona from Richmond VA in 1965. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He owned and operated Mason Avenue Auto Sales since 1969. Jim will be most remembered for his sense of humor and always helping a friend in need. He never met a stranger. His ambition in life was to provide for his family. Jim really enjoyed motor sports. He is survived by his loving daughters JoAnn Radcliffe and her husband Jim of Ponte Vedra Beach Karin Augat and her husband Chris of Ormond; sisters Doris Cathrow of AltaVista VA Amanda Crews of Cody VA; Wife of 36 years and lifelong friend Betty Bliss DeJarnette; 4 grandchildren Tyler Kelli Chad Courtney; 3 great-grandchildren Raegan Reece Jaiden; many nieces and nephews. Mr. DeJarnette was preceded in death by his daughter Shelia Bliss Nolan (1988).
