James J. Burns age 40 of Port Orange formerly of New Milford CT. his mission on earth fulfilled went to be with our Lord and Savior; Jesus Christ on Thursday May 14 2009 A funeral service in his honor will be held on Tuesday May 19 2009; 12:00 PM at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Calling hours visitation will be Mon. 5/18/09 5:00 - 7:00.
James was born in Danbury CT. to; Michael Jr. and Linda Burns. He graduated from Henry Abbott Tech and was a certified Plumber but dedicated his talent as a truck driver for companies like; Pepsi Kimberly Clark and many others. He was a property manager for Parkwood Community for 2 years and also served Volusia County as a Corrections Officer. He was a proud member of Christian Life Fellowship Church in CT but most of all he was a devoted husband father and grandfather.

"Jim" grew up on 50 archers and his hero "Granddaddy" James L. Sutton taught him to take care of all God's creatures and love the land.

James will be remembered as a selfless hard working fun loving man who was an avid NASCAR fan loved to work on his yard and garden doted over his animals especially his horse Daisy and his canine companions Leah and Isaiah.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his soul mate and wife of 18 years Lisa Burns his son: Shawn Burns and his wife Shauna 3 daughters Jessica Ashley Sarah Burns a grandbaby; Ethan Burns his parents a sister; Dawn (Jay) Eriquez a brother; Michael Burns III his mother-in-law: Dolores Catucci and his lifelong friend Neal Costa.
