Obituary

James "Jim" Brotherton 89 Daytona Beach passed away on Thursday July 19 2012 at the Hospice Care Center in Port Orange. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday July 26 2012 at St. Mary Episcopal Church 216 Orange Avenue Daytona Beach FL 32114.

Jim was born in Augusta Georgia on October 17 1922 to the late Ida (Burnett) and Stewart P. Brotherton. He was raised in Atlanta Georgia where he attended high school.

He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain. He worked for Allstate Insurance Company and retired after twenty-eight years.

Jim moved to Pelican Bay twenty-five years ago and he served on the Board of Directors there for one year. He was an avid golfer outdoor enthusiast and devoted usher at St. Mary Episcopal Church.

Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him and remembered in their hearts and thoughts forever. He is preceded in death by his parents Stewart and Ida Brotherton and Sister Deanne Hunter.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of thirty-three years Patricia Brotherton; loving children Judith Carter James Botherton II Jeri Scott and Jane Miller. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
