James Earl Bethea age 92 of Springwood Drive Daytona Beach passed away on Friday April 28th at Halifax Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday April 30 2006 at 1:00 PM at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona with Chaplain Laura Baskett officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon ? 1:00 PM.

Earl was born on January 1 1914 to Hugh and Alma Bethea in Hardee County Florida. Earl married Belle December 24 1934 and was married 71 years. He was a police lieutenant with the Daytona Beach Policeman Dept. from 1945 thru 1966 and also worked for Volusia County as a landfill coordinator from 1966 ? 1976. Earl was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved to attend sporting events which his family played in and he was very proud of them. Earl played semi-pro baseball as well. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church Ormond Beach FL

Earl is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Isabelle; his son David and wife Frances McGregor Texas his daughter Sandra McKinnon Daytona Beach. Four grandchildren; David Bethea Jr. Renee with their 4 children Kris Kent Casey and Tyler of Daytona Beach FL; Steven Michelle and their son Robby of Waco Tx; Deborah Tracy Wright and their 4 children Brian Jake Kimberly and Ray of Ft. Worth Texas and Daniel McKinnon of Daytona Beach FL. Also two brothers Hugh T. Bethea of Winter Park FL.and Wilbur C. Bethea of New Smyrna Beach FL
