James "Jimmy" Bennett, of Deland, FL, passed away on February 27, 2015 at the age of 70. Jimmy was born in Fort Myers, FL in 1944 to the late Kenneth and Mary Bennett. Jimmy lived in Deland for over 52 years. He was a well know figure throughout the Deland community, even acting as a courier for many of the local merchants. He will be missed by all who knew him. Jimmy is survived by his sister, Mary Ann (Herman) Jarriel of Georgia and a brother, John A. (Mary) Bennett of Florida. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 03, 2015, from the hours of 10:00am-11:00am at Lohman Funeral Home Deland. The service, officiated by Rev. Tom Campbell, will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Oakdale Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia Flagler.
