Arcuri James S. 67 of DeLand died on Friday January 18 at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Orange City of conditions associated with Agent Orange exposure during his service in Vietnam.

James was born September 26 1945 in Brooklyn New York and lived on Long Island until his retirement. From 1969-70 he served in Vietnam in the US Navy Seabees. He worked for 42 years as a journeyman electrician and foreman in New York City and was a proud member of the Local #3 union. He also taught electrical apprentices for 17 years. His hobbies included restoring his 1965 Corvette Sting Ray model trains photography and electronics.

When he retired in 2005 he moved to Victoria Gardens DeLand where he was a member of the Victoria Gardens Men's Club and Veterans' Club. He was also a charter member of the West Volusia Corvette Club. He enjoyed vacationing in Vermont with his children and grandchildren. A devoted husband loving father and grandfather all who knew him were moved by his gentle and kind nature.

James is survived by his wife of 41 years Frances; daughter Lauren of Stannard VT; son Brian of DeLand FL; son Matthew of Oviedo FL; and grandchildren Catherine and Jacob of Stannard VT.

Visitation will be Friday January 25 from 1 to 3 pm with memorial service at 3 pm at Lohman Funeral Home 935 E. New York Ave. DeLand.
