James Alfred Murphy, 82, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away peacefully Sunday, March 2, 2025.  He was born April 16, 1942 in Gardner, Massachusetts.  He honorably served in the United States Coast Guard for 23 years, retiring in 1983.  He was director for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University at the Palm Coast FAA Center.  He was an avid golfer his whole life and enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara (nee Benoit) Murphy; son, John Murphy; son, William Murphy; daughter, Jennifer Fuller (husband, Kennith Fuller); brother, Mark Murphy (wife, Claire Murphy); brother, Paul Murphy (wife, Marsha Murphy) grandson, Matthew Fuller; grandson Joshua Fuller (fiance, Kaylee Roth); granddaughter, Anna Fuller; granddaughter, Lily Murphy; and grandson, Henry Murphy. He is predeceased by parents, William and Blanche Murphy;  brother, Franklin Murphy; brother, Armand Murphy; and sister,  Martha Murphy Baillargeon.
