If the world seems a little less bright today, it is because Jackie Simpson, 80, went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2021. Jackie was born in Tampa, and is preceded in death by Robert Simpson, Sr., her husband of 48 years and her two sons, Rusty and Wesley.

She is survived by her children, and in-laws, Ginger, Susan, Andy, Ralph, Renee and Tonya, her 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, as well as her two sisters, Jeanne Sunberg and Sonya Alison. She grew up in Tampa and raised her family while working with Austic children as a teacher's aide. She loved to sew and crochet, but she loved being with her family above all. In recent years, she was delighted by family visits and getting to know her great grandchildren.  As a 20+ year Parkinson's patient, she found joy in boxing at "Rocky Steady Boxing". "Wild Child" loved going to class and being with new friends; we would not have been able to join this program without her "corner" person, Jan Schall.  She and Barbara Peerless provided companionship and fun for her during a time when her world was getting smaller. Richard Meyers, her neighbor and friend was available to her anytime and that brought comfort to us. Jackie was loved by everyone who knew her, not because she was especially sweet but she was the truest, kindest and most honest person anyone ever met. We will carry her in our hearts forever.

A memorial for close friends and family will be held in the spring, in Apalachicola, FL where she will be interred with her husband and sons.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Rock Steady Boxing https://www.rocksteadyboxing.org/donate/ or Halifax Hospice.
