Millaire Jacques died suddenly at home on July 9 at the age of 89. He was born May 17 1919 the son of Edward and Annie (Parker) Millaire.
He came to Daytona Beach in 1955 from Montreal Canada.
He owned Jack and Claires beach concession located one half mile south of Silver Beach for thirty years It was his enjoyment to feed and meet the thousands of tourist that came to his establishment.
After retiring he was a foster grandparent at Horizon Elementary for fifteen years. He attended Epiphany Church and was a member of the Port Orange Retiree Club.
He was a proud father of two children Suzanne Millaire from Colorado Springs CO and Edward Millaire from Port Orange FL. He loved to brag about his grandchildren Jennifer Froitzheim of Ocoee FL and Jeffrey Millaire of Jacksonville FL. He spent many hours playing cards and bingo wheelchair tennis was also on his weekly agenda. Sunday was always saved for Mass at Epiphany Church. His family will receive friends at Epiphany Church from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday July 15 2008 with a memorial Mass at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
